whatever your workday lunch routine—“the usual” from the corner deli, brown-bagging it, or  drive-thru you’ll regret by 3pm—it’s always a bonus when a project, meeting, or celebration means the boss is springing for everyone’s meal.
at big front door in san diego, we serve up fresh sandwiches, salads, and soups made from scratch at our location in university heights, but we also have an extensive catering menu for any occasion. here’s a sampling of how some of our options could be the perfect fit for your next work event.

startup strategy session

you’ve got the idea. you’ve got the team. now you just need a strategy for your startup, and fueling up on great food is the best way to ensure a productive brainstorm session. despite the name, our boxed lunches are great for thinking outside of the box, especially if you choose one of our signature sandwiches like loins of fire (chili roast pork loin, roast poblano, pickled onion, cilantro, lettuce, garlic aioli, torpedo), avocado highway (stacked avocado, roma tomato, parmesan crisp, lettuce, oil and vinegar, torpedo), or the t & t (turkey, tapenade, lettuce, red onion, roma tomato, oil and vinegar, ciabatta). boxed lunches (6 minimum) are $15 and include a sandwich, chips and our famous chocolate chip cookie.

corporate meeting

whether you’re bringing the whole company together for a meeting, a training, or a multi-department mix-and-mingle, we’ve got you covered. for large crowds, we recommend our platter options (each serves 12-18 people), such as the artisan cheese platter (house smoked gouda, maytag bleu, humboldt fog, fresh mozzarella, noord hollander, big john’s cajun, olive tapenade, honey-dijon mustard and deglet date, $80), the house smoked salmon (capers, lemon, cream cheese and french bread, $60), our seasonal vegetable crudité (roasted red pepper cream and balsamic vinaigrette, $45), and fresh seasonal fruit ($45).

small office birthday

everyone from the head boss to the receptionist deserves a proper birthday celebration, but you don’t have to take everyone out to the fanciest lunch restaurant in town to show you care. instead, let us bring the “fancy” to you with a 3-sandwich assortment ($95 for 8-12 people) and a salad platter or two (serves 8-12). Try the avoberry (strawberry, avocado, cucumber, red onion, almond, goat cheese, balsamic vinaigrette, $34), the sesame chicken (roast chicken, scallion, carrot, pea sprout, pepper, mandarin, crispy noodle, sesame vinaigrette, $38), or the classic greek (olive, pepper, pickled onion, feta, roma tomato, cucumber meyer lemon dressing, $29).

pta meeting

having trouble recruiting parents to participate in the pta? offering a delicious meal to accompany an evening meeting might do the trick. for this size crowd, we recommend a selection or two from our a la carte dinner menu (serves 8-10 people), like the smoked turkey breast ($70) and chili roast pork loin ($65). and don’t forget about sides (large pans serve 16-24 people for $32), including pesto orzo, sesame slaw, or chipotle potato salad.

construction celebration

after several years and several million dollars, what better way to celebrate the completion of a huge construction project than a site-wide lunch that tastes like a million bucks? to satiate the hunger of your hard-working crew, we recommend the build your own mini sandwich platter ($105 serves 12-18 people) that includes house smoked turkey, double-smoked berkshire ham, roast beef, cheddar, and provolone served with mini sandwich rolls and accompaniments. and since this is a celebration, don’t forget about dessert. we have a dessert platter ($20, 12 pieces) that includes our famous homemade cookies (chocolate chip, oatmeal rum raisin, coconut macaroon, or double chocolate pistachio), loaf brioche bread pudding, and chocolate bombs.

is your mouth watering yet?
