that’s exactly how we feel about deli sandwiches and craft beer. at bfd, we believe there’s no better way to wash down a spicy cuban or pulled pork sandwich than with a cold, frosty ale from a local brewery. 

balboa park is a jewel in san diego’s crown, home to amazing museums and one of the biggest and best zoos in the world. but some of our favorite spots are tucked away and hidden from the park’s main thoroughfares. 

at big front door, we’re one of closest—only seven blocks!—restaurants near balboa park, so we’ve compiled a list of balboa park’s hidden gems, most of which would make an excellent picnic spot with a basketful of our fresh and delectable sandwiches and salads.

​as far as we’re concerned, big front door stands in the prime location for easy access to all things awesome in san diego. not only are we smack dab in the middle of one of san diego’s hippest neighborhoods, but we’re also adjacent to a number of other incredible neighborhoods that have a ton of cool things going on as well.
